I have a special interest in rescue dogs. Whilst they can be a little bit more challenging than getting a puppy – I believe every dog deserves a second chance.
I moved from Germany to Australia in 2012 and adopted 2 dogs with my partner. We got our first dog Ellie (Elnora) in March 2013 from the RSPCA Peninsula. She is a crazy Kelpie x Staffy and loves nothing more than trick training and swimming.
Our second dog Joey became part of our family in July 2013. We adopted him from the Australian Animal Protection Society in Keysborough. He was ‘advertised’ as a Kelpie x, the vet blood results came back with a ‘little bit of everything’ and nothing of the mixed breed specified, but I am sure he is a pure ‘cuddle dog’ J.
Joey was actually the reason why I became a qualified dog trainer and behaviourist with the National Dog Trainers Federation (NDTF) in 2014. He had some fear aggression issues that needed to be worked on and I wanted to do everything right from the beginning. Now he is a really happy boy who loves nothing more than his ball, training in general and lots of cuddles!
I am always striving to improve my canine related knowledge and learn new training techniques by attending workshops.
